From the bedroom closet to the radio 

On August 10, 2015, I took my first official step towards fulfilling a dream I've had since 1999. 

I started a podcast. 

In my bedroom closet. (Here is the view of our first 'studio!')

The show didn't launch with much fanfare.

Let me rephrase that. It didn't launch with any fanfare. Just a few dozen downloads, and that was that. 

Well, except, that wasn't just 'that.' 

I had plans to launch not 'just a podcast,' but rather a wildly successful talk show that could be consumed as a podcast, on radio and online. 

So I kept working to prepare something I could get our local talk radio station to carry on its airwaves. 

And on October 3, 2016, Freedom 95 agreed to do just that - and The Todd Huff Show launched on radio!

Now before you start getting too excited, it aired 2:00 a.m. But I figured 2:00 a.m. was better than 'never a.m.' 

And that's where the show stayed for about 10 months. 

From 2:00 a.m. to Morning Drive

A few key advertisers believed in us enough to join the show at 2:00 a.m. They just didn't want us to stay at 2:00 a.m. 

And neither did we. 

That's why we were incredibly excited to move to Morning Drive on Freedom 95 in Indianapolis on July 31, 2017.

Those first few months required that we drive to the Freedom 95 Studio in Franklin, Indiana, each morning to broadcast. And below is a pic from Day 1!

The long-term plan was to broadcast from the home studio, and we were able to do that in the Fall of 2017. And that's where we still broadcast from today.

More blessings and opportunities

Starting our show has been a lot of work, and candidly, it has challenged my faith in many ways. But the amount of blessings I have gotten from this program, our listeners, and our advertisers is absolutely incredible. 

Since moving to morning drive on Freedom 95, here are just a few of the good things that have happened:

  • We were contacted by producers of some of the top talk shows in America today who are interested in helping the program grow and improve. (As we grow, we will explore these opportunities.)
  • We have communicated with syndicators about carrying the program. 
  • We were interviewed for a segment on Fox News' Special Report with Bret Baier. We were also contacted by MSNBC to be a guest panelist at Purdue University, but the segment was canceled due to Hurricane Michael coming ashore in Florida on the day the segment was set to air. (If you'd like to see a little behind-the-scenes video we produced the day Fox came to the home studio, you can watch here.)

  • We were contacted by 540 AM - Utah's Talk Authority and our show is now carried on their airwaves weekday mornings at 7:00 a.m. MDT
  • The number of advertisers on the show has increased dramatically
  • The number of listeners we reach has substantially increased
  • We have spoken at churches, special events, schools and on-the-air during interviews on other shows. 
  • We've built a team of marketers, production support staff and sales support staff, including those 'made famous' by the program, like Fetty Kate and The Hippie Lib. 
  • We have been given the opportunity to expand our program to 2 hours in both Indiana and Utah. 

Now, we're ready to take our next step! And that's why we're launching this Kickstart Hour 2 Campaign. 

Why a Kickstart Campaign?

Like most grassroots stories, ours started as a dream in the mind of a young college graduate listening to talk radio while managing a standardbred horse farm in rural Indiana in 1999. (Well, maybe not most stories...)

After a family vacation to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, in the Spring of 2015, that dream turned into a podcast. In a bedroom closet. 

That podcast turned into a radio show on Freedom 95 in Indianapolis in 2016. At 2:00 a.m. 

That 2:00 a.m. radio show turned into a show that was broadcast during Morning Drive in 2017. On one station. 

That one station show turned into a two station show in 2018. And that show was featured on Fox News. 

I'm pleased with how much we've accomplished in just 4 years, but we have a lot - A LOT - more left to do. 


Writing a book. Or maybe a couple.

Making appearances. 


Developing curriculum. 

Expanding our reach. 

Persuading others to constitutional conservatism. 

And Christianity. 

All in our uniquely 'conservative, not bitter' way. 

And it all begins when we work together to 'Kickstart Hour 2.' 

The Kickstart Hour 2 Packages

Starting as a podcaster in a bedroom closet has gave me the ability to watch, literally one-by-one, listeners download our new, unknown program. When you start from that point, you develop a deep admiration for those who take the time to give you an opportunity to earn them as a loyal listener. 

And once you see it from that point-of-view, you don't forget it. 

Likewise, those who help us Kickstart Hour 2 through this campaign will hold a special place in my heart, too. 

This second hour will help us reach and persuade even more people for constitutional conservatism. 

And not only that, it will help lay the groundwork for even bigger things to come.

Risks and challenges

We are committed to launching a 2nd hour of The Todd Huff Show, and we expect the biggest challenges will arise after the initial launch. But rest assured: we are preparing for those expected challenges as well.

In order for our show to continue to grow and succeed, we need to build a sales team. As it now stands, all sales are generated by me. And adding additional content to my plate certainly impacts my availability to secure new advertisers.

So with the creation of additional content comes the need for additional sales support. (And to a lesser extent, production support, which is also part of the next phase of our plan.)

A sales team (and production support) will be funded through a combination of several things:
* First, through continued growth in advertising sales. We're pleased to report that advertising sales have increased every year we've been in operation (since 2015). And those increases came in spite of the fact that I had a second business to operate until June 1 of this year. So we expect faster sales growth in 2020. We're seeing signs of this already in the 5 short months I've committed to exclusively working for The Todd Huff Show.
* Second, through potential investors. We are currently exploring a couple of investor opportunities, and expect to have feedback on at least one of those opportunities during this campaign.
* Third, through the success of this campaign and other campaigns.
* Fourth, through ongoing sales of Conservative Not Bitter Party memberships, which we will continue to promote on our show, social media, appearances, etc.
* Fifth, through an increase in awareness that naturally comes from the purposeful activities we are engaged in (media, promotion, social, etc) each and every day at The Todd Huff Show.
