DOES IT MAKE SENSE TO INVITE ME TO YOUR CHURCH?
Where is the modern mission field?
When many Christians think of the mission field, they think of some remote village in Africa. Or the jungles of South America. Perhaps some isolated islands in the South Pacific. Or maybe countries formerly part of the Eastern Bloc of the Soviet Union.
While these places are absolutely part of the mission field — and I fully support those who feel called to share the Gospel there or in any foreign land — the truth is that the entire world is the mission field.
And that includes the place we call home.
I’ve never felt called to preach in some far away land. It’s God’s prerogative to call us how He chooses. After all, He is the Potter and we are merely the clay.
I believe my mission is here, in the United States of America.
My name is Todd Huff. I’m a conservative Christian talk radio show host, podcaster, columnist, speaker, and evangelist.
My mission is to help others hear and receive truth.
Perhaps its because of the way I was raised and how I came to know Jesus, but my heart is very sensitive to the American people — especially those who have lived outside the light of Christ.
When I think of these folks, I’m reminded of Jesus’ words on the Cross: “Father, forgive them, for they have not known what they do” (Luke 23:34).
There is but one way for people living in darkness to see the light — and that is for those living in the light to share it.
The mission is to share truth.
My friend, it is imperative that we — me, you, the church — share the truth.
In John 18:37, Jesus tells Pilate, “For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world—to bear witness to the truth.”
As followers of Jesus, we know that He is ‘the way, the truth, and the life’ (John 14:6). There is no salvation in anyone else. While we all have different paths to Jesus, Jesus is the only path to God the Father.
But, my friend, how much joy are we robbing from ourselves if we don’t believe or care to even know other biblical truths?
Better yet, how much pain and suffering would we spare others from if we boldly embraced and unapologetically shared truth with a world that is dying without it?
Everything has become political.
You may have noticed in recent years that everything has become political.
What you eat. Drink. Drive. Wear.
Where you work. Live. Go to school.
Everything has become political.
Let me be clear: I do not think the church should engage in politics.
But I do believe the church should be willing to speak up and speak out about things the Bible has something to say about.
That includes a lot of things that we’ve allowed people to classify as ‘political.’
The truth is, many of these things aren’t strictly political — or even political at all in some cases. Far too many of us have allowed opponents of God’s truth to silence us regarding so-called political matters.
If the Scripture isn’t silent, we shouldn’t be manipulated and coerced to believe we should be either.
Here’s just a sampling of things the Bible has something to say about, thereby making these things issues the church should not be silent about:
Liberty (role of government, individual freedom)
God’s design & order (gender, LGBTQIA+ issues, transgenderism + sports)
Life (abortion, end of life)
Doing good, seeking justice, correcting oppression (many examples)
Work & personal responsibility (social programs, entitlements)
Robbery (criminal activity, government oppression)
Defending the needy and the poor (government programs, role of church/private sector in society)
Supporting the nation of Israel (antisemitism, college protests, Israeli war against Hamas, 2-state solution)
Overburdening people (taxes, government bureaucracy, government spending)
Embracing truth and welcoming revival
At the core of the message I believe God has laid upon my heart for nearly 25 years now is this: America is fighting a spiritual battle and is in desperate need of revival.
And this spiritual battle is fueling much of the political discord we have in America today.
I feel God has called and equipped me to speak to this.
This message is not political.
It focuses on truth.
And it’s why we call our mission The Truth Tour.
My friend, I don’t have it all figured out.
But God has shared some fundamental truth with us through His Holy Word and we would be well advised to believe it, embrace it, articulate it, and defend for it.
That’s the core of what I want to share with your congregation.
Does it make sense to talk about the possibility of having me share this message with your local church? If so, I invite you to set a time to talk here.
