Who Really Executed Jesus? The True Meaning of Easter

My friends, on Easter Sunday, actor John Cusack posted this on X: “Happy Easter - Christ was tortured and executed as a Political calculation by the Trumps of the Day…”

Now, I’ll leave John’s political biases alone and ask you this: who really executed Jesus? Was it the Roman guards who beat Him and nailed Him to the Cross? Or the Jewish leaders who schemed to have Him killed?

The Bible tells us Jesus could have stopped it all — after all, He was God incarnate. So why was He executed? To save His people from their sin.

It was for our sin — your sin, my sin, John Cusack’s sin — that Jesus was executed. He died in our place, my friends.

All politics aside, that’s the true message of Easter.
