Supreme Court to Weigh Birthright Citizenship: A Constitutional Crisis

My friends, on May 15th, the Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in three cases concerning birthright citizenship. Birthright citizenship, as currently interpreted by the Supreme Court through the 14th Amendment, grants citizenship to anyone born on U.S. soil regardless of their parent'’ legal status. Do we really think the founders intended to extend birthright citizenship to children born to individuals here in violation of our nation's laws? Congress has the authority to determine who may legally enter the United States.

It's nonsensical to think those breaking the law to be here should somehow have children automatically entitled to citizenship. Americans are a generous people. We welcome legal immigrants. But my friends, we're tired of people exploiting our generosity through loopholes that never should have existed.
