The Epstein List Fight Exposes Truth vs Cover-Up in Congress

Congress is in turmoil over the fight to release Jeffrey Epstein’s files. A bipartisan duo — Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) and Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) — stood with survivors at the Capitol demanding transparency through the “Epstein Files Transparency Act.” Their strategy? A rare discharge petition that bypasses committees and forces a vote if 218 members sign on. Meanwhile, President Trump is calling the whole thing a “hoax,” sparking confusion and outrage among victims and observers alike.

Todd cuts through the noise. Why are some lawmakers and media outlets suddenly eager to release everything, while others urge caution in the name of due process? Why do survivors say past “document dumps” were padded with already-public information? And what does it mean when Trump both campaigned on releasing the Epstein files yet now dismisses the fight?

At its core, this battle is about truth versus deception, justice versus cover-up, and ultimately right versus wrong. Todd reminds us that transparency must walk hand-in-hand with protecting due process — but that Americans have every right to demand accountability.

Todd Huff Show – September 4, 2025

[00:00] Todd: Welcome back, my friends. We are in the Full Suite Wealth studios. Thank you so much for joining us. If you want to be part of the conversation — thoughts, questions, feedback — always be sure to include that extra adoration and praise. Ten to fifteen percent more than you first think is necessary.

[00:40] Todd: todd@toddhuffshow.com is the email if you want to do that. I want to talk about the Epstein list today. There’s a press conference, Trump calling this a hoax, and a petition in Congress to bypass the normal committee rules.

[01:30] Todd: I’ll go through this as fairly and as accurately as I know how. Before we get rolling, friends, maybe you’ve reached the stage where managing money feels more like juggling than just numbers. That’s when Full Suite Wealth comes in.

[02:20] Todd (Sponsor): Full Suite Wealth brings together tax planning, estate work, investment choices, private equity, private credit, legal expertise — all under one roof. Build your legacy, secure your future.

[04:00] Todd: Yesterday, Thomas Massie, Republican from Kentucky, and Ro Khanna, Democrat from California, held a press conference at the Capitol. They invited survivors of Epstein’s abuse.

[04:45] Todd: They promoted the Epstein Files Transparency Act, H.R. 4405, and a discharge petition. Now, what’s a discharge petition? If 218 members sign it, a bill bypasses committee and goes directly to the floor.

[05:40] Todd: If passed, the DOJ would have 30 days to release nearly all Epstein-related records, with limited redactions to protect victims.

[06:20] Todd: Any member can sign the petition at the clerk’s office. These are updated daily. ABC News says there are 206 signatures. Reuters reports at least three Republicans — Nancy Mace, Lauren Boebert, and Marjorie Taylor Greene — have signed.

[07:30] Todd: Oversight has already posted 33,000+ pages, but survivors say much of that was already public. They want full truth, not filler.

[08:15] Todd: What is the “Epstein list”? That’s where people get confused. I brave TikTok and post clips of this program. Lately the algorithm has taken me to leftist lunatics. The names I’ve been called — I won’t repeat them here.

[09:20] Todd: At one point, that stuff bothered me more. Now? I don’t care. These insults are meant to shut you up, to silence truth. I sit here every day to proclaim truth. Because if we don’t, lies fill the void.

[10:30] Todd: Look at our culture. We’re debating if men can be women, if men can have babies. This is beyond sanity. At its core, this is a spiritual problem in America. Yes, politics matter. But this is ultimately good vs. evil.

[12:00] Todd: Some differences are legitimate. But much of what we face today is not. And if you’re on TikTok long enough, they’ll try to call you a pedophile simply for talking about this issue. That’s how bad it’s gotten.

[13:00] Todd: That’s why Massie and Khanna are trying to get enough signatures on the discharge petition. Survivors want a vote. They want transparency. They want the files released.

[13:45] Todd: As of now, there are other things already on the calendar: an estate subpoena due September 8, and Alex Acosta scheduled for a House interview September 19.

[14:30] Todd: Let’s look at the arguments. The pro-transparency side says survivors deserve justice, elites have avoided scrutiny for decades, and the public needs disclosure. They don’t want padded dumps of documents — they want real release within 30 days.

[15:40] Todd: Survivors argue Trump calling this a hoax demeans victims and deepens distrust. And that makes sense.

[16:10] Todd: The other side, Trump’s side, says you must balance transparency with due process. Remember: due process is about protecting rights, no matter how heinous the crime. That’s why the founders built it into the system.

[17:20] Todd: Without due process, you get witch trials. You get mob rule. You get people convicted in the court of public opinion without ever having a fair trial. That’s dangerous.

[18:10] Todd: I served on a jury once. The defense attorney asked if we could presume innocence in a case involving harm to a child. One potential juror said no — and he was struck from the jury. That’s the point: we must protect due process even when emotions run high.

[19:40] Todd: If you release everything without care, you risk tainting trials, prejudicing jurors, and making it impossible for the accused to receive a fair hearing. That’s the counterargument.

[20:30] Todd: Maybe you say the risk is worth it — fine. But at least understand the arguments. Oversight committees say they can release responsibly. The bill’s sponsors say only a 30-day deadline ensures transparency.

[22:00] Todd: Trump has called this a hoax. Survivors are hurt by that. Critics are angered. Others say he’s emphasizing due process. So, both sides claim to want transparency. The disagreement is over method.

[23:20] Todd: But make no mistake: elites do want this buried. Survivors want justice. The American people want the truth. Politicians? Many just want to avoid being implicated.

[24:10] Todd: And that’s where we are. Conservative, not bitter. We’ll be back in just a minute.
