True Charity Comes from the Heart, Not Government Mandates

My friends, when did it become acceptable to expect others — like millionaires and billionaires — to pay for what we personally want in life?

Isn’t it ironic that those making these demands often accuse you of selfishness for simply wanting to keep what you’ve earned?

Now, I’d absolutely point to the words of Christ about charity and a giving heart. But here’s the thing: Jesus appeals to our individual will — not to force charity through government mandates.

Everyone’s circumstances and priorities differ.

Besides, is it really charity if the government takes from one person to give to another, all while skimming their cut off the top?

Here’s an idea: instead of demanding handouts, how about we demand the government reduce the burdens it’s placing on Americans?
