My friends, does anyone truly believe violent crime in Washington, D.C. is plummeting by nearly a third — especially when the headlines feel more like Gotham City than Mayberry? Does your gut tell you something just isn’t adding up here? Mine certainly does. That's why it didn’t shock me to hear that the city's own police commander, Michael Pulliam, is under investigation for allegedly cooking the books on crime stats.

The Fraternal Order of Police Chairman, Gregg Pemberton, calls these "miraculous" statistics not just suspicious, but "preposterous" — stressing there's "absolutely no way crime could be down 28 percent.” And I agree — no serious person thinks cities run by Leftists are reducing crime. Turns out ideas like defunding the police, inciting violence against ICE, and abandoning morality have negative impacts on society. Who knew?
