My friends, President Obama is calling for government regulation of journalism and social media. Don’t believe me? In a recent interview, he said we need to “reaffirm facts” and “separate facts from opinion” — and that doing so will “require government regulatory constraints.”
Apparently, the so-called constitutional scholar hasn’t read the First Amendment lately — which says Congress shall make no law abridging the freedom of press.
Now, it’s illegal to lie when it causes direct harm to someone — that’s libel or defamation. But government controlling media is something altogether different — and dangerous.
The best protection against this is a free people who have the ability to think for themselves — especially in a world where they’ve already lied to us about COVID, Biden’s health, and their political agendas.
Truth doesn’t need government approval — it needs courage and common sense.
