My friends, over the past few weeks you’ve heard me talk a lot about redistricting here in Indiana. I’ve explained why I support the new maps. I’ve had guests on. I’ve invited critics. The reason we’ve focused on this is simple: it matters — not just here, but nationally, especially as we look toward 2026.

And yet, despite a 40–10 advantage in the state senate, Republicans opposed these maps. The final vote? Thirty-one to nineteen. Even a majority of Republicans opposed it. That’s disappointing. Not shocking. But disappointing.

Having a red state doesn’t guarantee conservative leadership. Some don’t see what’s at stake. Some may not care. Either way, it’s on us.
