Trump says Vance Vice President Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio are in talks to well with Iran to end the war I saw earlier yesterday that Trump said that there was significant significant presence there was a significant present from the Iranians that was linked to the Strait of Ormuz as this deal begins to be negotiated we will see I am skeptical in one sense because I understand how the nature of conflicts are I understand the posturing the messaging again just read Sun Zoos the Art of War there's competing headlines out here again there was a headline even yesterday that I'm going to pull up here the Pentagon this is a headline from just the news Com DoD officials considering deploying airborne troops to Iran war according to a report so again who knows where this is going to end up I just want to talk about this I just want to stay on top of what's happening in the news you know that we've been doing a series a series here that's designed to give people a framework upon which we can discuss and understand politics and build a political framework and I look this is this is what it means to be a conservative someone who thinks and someone who tries to take positions not just that feel a certain way we want to take a position that actually makes the most sense so we're going to put that on hold for today as we talk about these things my friends so that's what we're doing

Todd Huff: again the correct way to look at this is that we had a worldwide menace in the Middle East who was threatening the free world threatening our ally threatening well everybody in the Middle East we've seen what they've done to those countries with drones and missiles and whatever they could to to harm the people in these neighboring countries who had nothing to do even with the initial fight the initial dropping of bombs and firing of missiles and everything else had nothing to do with decapitating their leadership taking out Khamenei the original well the previous I should say Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran this has been a mismanaged situation you can go back you can go back to the Carter administration and what they did what the Iranians did regarding the US Embassy in those days right after the Islamic Revolution the Iranian Revolution took place in 1979 I mean it's it's been mismanaged in a lot of ways from the beginning we've had people in office who didn't understand the threat the iranians posed that didn't want to hold them accountable or didn't think that we could
Todd Huff: you know they've been fighting a proxy war against the United States of America for some times and now there in well they're in a heated war with the united states of america and israel and they're trying to do all they can to cause havoc for the rest of the world so that there's international pressure upon the United States and Israel to make us somehow the bad guy but this has been this can has been kicked down the road you know I had a conversation with a good friend recently she was talking with me about something that was going on locally in our school district we don't our kids are not enrolled in public school we homeschool it I think I've shared with you I know I've shared with you but you may or may not have heard me say that we've got three kiddos we've got a 16 14 and 12 year old that's who's in the Huff household here but they've all been homeschooled since day one I actually love it my wife does let me be fair 99 point something percent of the work occasionally in fact one of these days was yesterday I had to help tutor help someone with actually two of our kiddos with
Todd Huff: I think both of them we were doing math for both of them so there's occasions where that is the case and I don't mind doing it it's just that my day doesn't really permit that to happen but anyway she was talking with me about some things happening in our local school and I said listen there's a problem with government of all levels by the way problem with the government that how do I split I use the NBA analogy with her which I think I've used on here before you know the NBA was close to I mean really being in trouble of fighting for survival in the late 70s and early 1980s and there were two players who came along who changed the trajectory of the NBA and they turned the NBA around and those two players the first two there's others that have been since then but the two that turned it around were named irvin magic johnson and larry bird
Todd Huff: and this was a rivalry between Larry Bird from French Lick here in Indiana he went to Indiana State he went to IU for a bit and didn't stick around ended up going to Indiana State was dominant there he and Magic ended up playing for the national championship Magic Johnson went to Michigan State they played for the national championship in what 1979 and they had a rivalry from that moment in time that went into the NBA I think didn't I think Larry if I'm not mistaken won the Rookie of the Year I think but the Lakers and the Celtics played each other constantly that's magic played for the Celtics excuse me the Lakers Bird played for the Celtics this was this was basketball at its finest I mean it really was it was entertaining there were a lot of things that made these two players you know just just personalities that were so different in many ways but skill and competition that just drew attention and then of course along came a guy named Michael Jordan
Todd Huff: Who was drafted in 1984 we had others like patrick ewing hakeem olajuwon other great players of the 80s and 90s who turned this around and I only mentioned this not I do like to talk about sports I won't lie about that but not just to talk about sports but to say the same thing you had the guys that worked to build this thing then it became a pretty big sensation in fact if you go back to the 1992 NBA or the the Olympic Dream Team right this this took basketball American the American brand of basketball to the international stage in fact a lot of the players that we have today in the NBA there's a ton of players who are foreign born I mean in fact the best players in the NBA right now are almost all the top five I would say the top five players are arguably foreign born players Luka doncic nicola jokic shay gilgis alexander giannis and tentacupo who am I forgetting oh victor wembanyama is from france jokic is from serbia luca is from I want to say Slovenia that may not be right shay is from Canada and who am I forgetting oh yanis is from greece and so you have what happened to the NBA you had those players Magic and Bird along with Michael Jordan and others John Stockton Carl Malone on the 92 Charles barkley 92 NBA dream team and and we slaughtered everybody on the in the in the Olympic Games in fact other players were asking our players for autographs and pictures before during after the Games I mean it was they were treated like celebrities over there no one expected to even compete with these guys and no one really did and so that moved the game internationally and now of course there's been a lot of players from other countries I'm reminded of Yao Ming who came from China Yao Ming really helped the game grow in China Kobe Bryant was an NBA player who was very popular in China and you have lots of players who are from Indiana Pacers have Pascal Siakam who's from Senegal I believe they have Andrew Nimhard who's from Canada there's lots of players who have played from Australia forgetting others I'm sure I'm sure as as well but the point here is that you had those two guys Magic and Bird grew the NBA they had the Dream Team with those two guys along with Jordan and some other superstars it made this an international sensation
Todd Huff: And now now if you sit on the bench and you don't ever play the amount of money you get paid just to be on an NBA roster is astronomical and I'll tell you something else and this is this is where you'll hear Unk behind the microphone today who will say you know a lot of these players today if they would have played first of all Larry Bird plays today Magic Johnson Michael Jordan John Stockton those guys don't take games off for load management see they were too busy building something they were too busy competing night in and night out and listen part of this I think is inevitable you got the attorneys coming in you've got the specialists the people who built it moved on and now you've got people who have come along and this is the analogy I'm making here to our government whether it's local federal whatever just the founders the founders were like the dream team of 1992 where they they made America what they were they were like magic and birds so to speak and now we've had so many blessings because of what they did because they signed that parchment my friends that said we mutually pledged to one another our lives our fortunes and our sacred honor and they meant it some of them lost virtually everything my friends they put it all on the line to well for for Liberty's sake now you can't get someone to show up at a public meeting because they've got a I don't know watch an episode of the Voice or something it's just it's wild to me how far we've come
Todd Huff: And I only use this illustration to say just as the NBA in my opinion in a lot of ways has peaked and is actually I mean there's some younger players you know we'll see what happens with them especially with Wembanyama and some players like that but it's not what it was because all the attention and all the competition that came from the mindset and the attitude of two players and a league that needed it to work who had to make this work it's different now now it's an entitlement now it's give me my money now it's you know don't even come asking me to play if you can't pay me half a million dollars a game that's what it's become today and again I don't want to harp too much but it's because the guys at the beginning had invested had built it it became what it was because of them just like this country became what it was because of the founders because of the greatest generation even more recently the greatest generation it was almost now all gone now just because of that they've they've they've gotten old and their lifespans they're just they're not here anymore and so the people who literally had to make some incredible choices things like World War I World War II my goodness the list goes on and on winning the Cold War all these things those folks are going
Todd Huff: And now now America is led by people politicians who are the professional types who only want to manage it who only want to look for what's theirs so to speak there's no more signing a pledge that says the equivalent of what the founders said which is we mutually pledged to one another our lives our fortunes and our sacred honor and and we've got a government gone haywire and it's a mess it's a mess at so many levels and that's what's happened in this nation to reel it back to Iran it's been mismanaged for so long it's been mismanaged for such a long time and we've signed stupid Iranian nuclear deals with Obama back in 2000 what was it 15 the J whatever it was JPCOA I can't remember this is what's happened and they basically Iran was allowed to fester it was it was a malignant tumor that was basically left to grow unfettered as we hit our eyes and didn't really want to see what was happening over there and Trump comes along and he basically he and Israel take out the leadership take out their capabilities this by the way is the second second strike to take out their nuclear capabilities
Todd Huff: If you remember we did this back in what June I think of last year so these things you have someone coming along who's trying to fix this it's a real problem people can say whatever they want they act as though the problem is Trump in this equation but how many times must we hear death to America death to Israel and then that same country moving towards having nuclear weapons promising to use those to wipe Israel off the face of the planet so Trump steps in takes action and then he's criticized as being a warmonger and so forth listen I've said this before and you know this just from having sense there become there are times and I'm going to use not necessarily war but war the conflict that happens in war certainly similarities of course war is hell but just other conflicts that we can relate to right and there's we always like to use the bully on the playground analogy if the bully on the playground decides to go fight somebody to try to beat somebody up the only way to stop it the only way to stop it is you beat them to the punch
Todd Huff: Or when they do strike you have enough in your arsenal in your tank and your skill set to make the bully wish he didn't come starting a fight if they decide there's going to be a fight then there's going to be a fight Iran this is the point Iran decided there was going to be a fight Iran decided this they so the question was do we let them ramp up and have everything they need including ballistic nuclear capabilities do we do that do we strike them proactively do we strike them before they get the capability and we did this wisely now again we may find out things between now and then that maybe they weren't as close to this that or the other but the bottom line the bottom line here for me the bottom line here is that this is completely justifiable so you had a media and a Democrat Party who didn't want him going in there and now that he's about to again according to what reports are what he's saying maybe negotiating the end of this war there's criticism about this too what is he supposed to do
Todd Huff: What do our liberal friends our leftist friends want trump to do this problem has been allowed to fester for a long time he's not responsible for that my friends in fact the government that's been growing behind the scenes that's been on autopilot that was allowed to basically do whatever it want whatever it wanted over the course of many years in the not too distant past because so many Americans were apathetic and asleep at the wheel now those chickens as Jeremiah Wright would say are coming home to roost and they've come home to roost for Iran and they've gotten what they've deserved my friends and now Trump is trying to end this as we all knew he was going to try to do remember he's talking in terms of weeks maybe a couple of months not years not dramatic drawn out thing although although he also said that we're committed to winning this thing no matter what it takes and all the options are on the table

Todd Huff: But he's out there interviewing college students on spring break he asked them things like what's the most pressing issue facing the United States some little skull full of mush here in a bikini says what bikini I'm going to wear next that's the biggest issue today another one says getting a tan on the beach that's the most important thing in my life right now these people vote by the way my friends they asked a guy a question what's the most pressing issue he said ice not personally I'm legal that's what he said boy the things that people say oh one girl said we're going to war with Iraq that's been crazy this guy's name is Johnny Bellisario I believe and he made a comment to one of these folks about the ayatollah being killed and somebody responded think a guy responded who the blank is Ayatollah I've never heard that word before oh goodness gracious so this is what listen when you think about some of the things we've talked about in recent days to give a framework for politics that's why I mean we've got a bunch of dare I say these are America's best and brightest right we're told that the purpose of the American education system is to give kids diploma so that they can go out into college and then I guess have spring breaks this is the product this is the product of America's universities my friends their priorities are getting a tan on the beach deciding what bikini to wear next one of these guys has no idea who the ayatollah is never heard that word before he says one girl when asked how she would handle the conflict with Iran she said she would flirt with them oh my gosh I gotta tell you the level of stupidity and they're proud they're proud of it in fact a lot of them said that they were drunk or had been drinking or whatever who knows what else that they were doing by the way if your kids go to college I listen there are some things that college is good for there's been a whole lot of waste on college throughout the years my friends not to mention a whole lot of behavior
Todd Huff: A whole lot of behavior that people have regretted for a large portion of their lives they partook in in the college years but anyway think whatever you will about that but as I was preparing I thought about playing the clip I've got it here but I'm not gonna play it I just wanted to tell you that as we're talking about Iran one of these Biden supporters on the beach said who the blank is Ayatollah I've never heard that word before and it's part of the reason why people are against look I'm not for war but again the Iranian leaders decided there was going to be a war and we just decided the terms and that's what we did and I'm glad we did and I went out of this thing I want to achieve our objectives and I want to move on with life I want to make sure that they are not a threat in the foreseeable future because who knows who's going to come after Trump and to the White House there's no guarantee it will be a Republican there's no guarantee it will be someone with the brain in fact history teaches us that there's a lot of people who can win election and reelection who have no interest desire capability whatsoever to deal with real threats out there on the world stage by the way on the world stage and in America's backyard when they've left the borders wide open for people to transport terrorism in some cases in gang behavior drugs human trafficking you name it so anyway that's what's going on in America's public institutions but we're in this mess because we kicked the can down the road we kicked the can down the road for a long time and now now we're dealing with this problem that's been allowed to metastasize for a long time in the middle east
Todd Huff: So let's look a little bit here as to what Trump has been saying Trump this is at foxnews.com Trump touts significant Iran present linked to straight of Hormuz as deal talks heat up Trump says gift arrived Tuesday and was very significant with negotiations led by Marco Rubio JD Vance President Donald Trump on Tuesday announced Iran wants to quote make a deal with the US noting the country's leadership gave the US a significant prize related to the Strait of Hormuz and the flow of oil while speaking to reporters at the excuse me in the White House Oval Office Trump said Iranian leadership sent the gift on Monday and it arrived on Tuesday this is Trump talking here they're going to make a deal they did something yesterday that was referring to Monday that was amazing actually they gave us a present the present arrived today and it was a very big present worth a tremendous amount of money Trump said he could not disclose what the gift was but said it was oil and gas related and was connected to the Strait of Hormuz the Iranian regime was previously charging some tankers millions of dollars to pass through the global shipping choke point according to a report from Iran International Trump added the unspecified present was very significant that meant one thing to me we're dealing with the right people Trump said it was a very nice thing they did they said they are going to do it and it happened and they're the only ones that could have done it
Todd Huff: When asked about the control of the Strait of Hormuz he said the United States will have control of anything we want Trump continued here he said they can't have certain things it starts with no nuclear weapons and they've agreed to that they're not going to have enrichment any of those things we are in about the best bargaining position we're way ahead of schedule negotiations are being headed by Secretary of State Marco Rubio Vice President JD Vance according to the president so that's a developing story we'll see where it ends up it's promising it's a war though these sorts of situations can change dramatically they can be head fakes by the enemy maybe they're trying to buy some time who knows Trump's Trump's well aware of what he's dealing with though that's why and I mentioned this earlier there's another report out there literally literally on the Bongino report right next to right next to the article I just referenced or at least an article that's referencing the same story that I just talked about right next to that it says Pentagon may send airborne troops into Iran war that's according to a report so again who knows where this is going to happen all I got to say is this number one the war was necessary and justifiable number two the war has been pretty much what Trump told the American people it was going to be number three Trump's trying to attain our objectives as quickly as possible so that we can bring this to an immediate end and the problems that we are facing economically when it comes to things like the price of things that depend upon oil and that sort of thing gasoline at the pump and other things where transportation is needed those things my friends should if this goes through the prices will come back down which is of course a very good thing

Todd Huff: If you read the article here it's got some information about the poll but it talks about how these independent voters who of course are as the article says one of the if not the most critical voting bloc in US elections say the Trump administration is focused too little on domestic matters so a lot of people and we've been talking here of course about Iran of course the world stage and so forth and that's important but some people say the Trump administration is focused too much on this and it's interesting to me it's interesting to me that it's independence because we're told that independence are kind of moderates but it's interesting to me that the independents want Trump focusing more on these domestic issues these are things that I didn't think well if you listen to the media they don't want you to think that these things are popular but here we have independence that seem to want Trump to do more on these things now let's be clear on a couple of things number one the major problem the major problem we have in Washington DC is well of course there's too many Democrats in both the House and the Senate and there's too many wimpy Republicans in particular the Senate but there's wimpy Republicans in the House as well so this is the first problem the first problem is not Trump I'm not saying Trump is perfect
Todd Huff: I have to tell you I agree with the vast majority of what he does it's refreshing to me to have I know this is the opposite of perspective or take that many on the left have they think Trump is just this everything that's wrong with politics I actually think it's refreshing even if I don't agree with him to see a politician who actually does what I think he truly believes in this guy has nothing to gain from this right he's a billionaire he doesn't need to prove anything a lot of people would say he loves his country and cares about his future enough to actually get in there and do it he's faced tremendous opposition they tried to kill him multiple times in fact if you count the Iranian that's I mean there's been lots of attempts on President Trump's life I've told my wife I've mentioned to you whatever your position on Trump just take it in for the final he's got a little under three years left just take it all in because this is it there's not going to be another politician I would be shocked if there was there's not going to be another politician like this in our lifetime
Todd Huff: But the independents think hey this guy needs to be doing more on domestic matters I would like to see the needle move on a lot of those things as well I do think we made a lot of great progress especially when it comes to of course securing the border that was remarkable what we did and what he did in the first couple of months of his second term of course deportations the Senate needs to well actually play for real and actually try to pass the SAVE Act but again most of the problems fall to Congress but I've got to go hope you have a great day my friends SDG
