My friends, sometimes politics feels less like governing and more like high school drama.
Next week, when Donald Trump delivers the State of the Union, some Democrats plan to boycott and attend their own silly little event on the National Mall, hosted by radical groups like MoveOn.org. About a dozen Democrats are reportedly participating.
Protest is part of politics. But this isn’t protest. It’s Dramacrats being Dramacrats.
Hakeem Jeffries plans to attend. He says Trump is “coming to our house,” and it’s his view that you don’t let anyone ever run you off your block.
Even when they do the right thing, they remain petulant.
Adults show up. Listen. Debate.
But maybe they’re on to something. If their tantrums happen off-site, it’s a whole lot easier to ignore the infantile behavior.
